P-POD for PHYSICAL & OCCUPATIONAL THERAPISTS

Physical and Occupational therapists can now treat plagiocephaly without the need to refer patients to an outside clinic.

Physical and Occupational therapists are often the first health care providers to initiate treatment when parents notice a flat spot on the back of an infant’s head. In many cases therapists are already working with families to treat other conditions like torticollis when the flat spot is first noticed. At that point, a course of conservative treatment of repositioning and tummy time will likely be recommended. If that is unsuccessful, a cranial remolding helmet may be the next step.

In order to get started with helmet therapy, therapists have had to refer their patients to an orthotics clinic. This means families have to wait for an appointment for scans and then wait for the helmet to be fabricated in order to start treatment.

What if there was a better, faster way?

IN-OFFICE or IN-HOME TREATMENT

With the P-POD, therapists can diagnose and fit the cranial helmet in a single visit.* No scanning, no shipping, no waiting. The complete process happens at the point of care, allowing the baby to begin treatment immediately, speeding healing time. For therapists who do at home visits, the fitting can be done right in the comfort of the babies home.

OUR HELMET

The P-POD Helmet is a traditional cranial orthotic device that applies static or gentle pressure to prominent regions of an infant's head in order to improve cranial symmetry and/or shape in infants from 4 to 18 months of age.
